Tigard is a city of about 48,000 in Washington County, Oregon. It's about 11
miles southwest of Portland, and it's about a 30 minute to an hour drive,
depending on traffic. Tigard is fairly diverse, with about a 9% Hispanic
population, 6% Asian, 2% African American, and 86% White, it has more Asian and
Hispanic faces than some other Portland communities. Tigard is fairly middle to
uppper middle class in income, with an average household income of about
$52,000; for a family it's about $62,000.
Tigard is known as a very quiet, pleasant, clean, and family friendly town. Tri
Met buslines run through the city, and a MAX light rail commuter line has been
started.
